Mr. Michael Maglich assumed duties as the 17th Technical Director/Deputy Direct Reporting Program Manager, Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) in September 2014. As the Technical Director, Mr. Maglich is responsible for the execution of the TRIDENT II Strategic Weapon System.

Prior to his appointment as the Technical Director, Mr. Maglich held many positions in the Reentry Systems Branch of Strategic Systems Programs. As the Advanced Reentry System Section Head, he was responsible for overall technical and fiscal leadership of reentry system development and production programs including coordinating the establishment of new programs with the Department of Energy. In this position, Mr. Maglich established and served as the first Director, Strategic Systems Programs (DIRSSP) action officer to the Nuclear Weapons Council.

In 2002, he was selected to the Senior Executive Service as Head for Trident Weapon System Integration and Compatibility. In this position, he was the primary Systems Engineer for Strategic Systems Programs and provided overall leadership, guidance, and management for the Systems Engineering Process required to design, develop, test and evaluate, operate, support, and maintain the Strategic Weapons System.

Most recently, Mr. Maglich served as the Assistant to the Chief Engineer for Missile Engineering Systems at SSP from 2004-2014. He was responsible for all matters pertaining to missile system design, development, flight test data acquisition, production and Fleet support as well as integration of flight hardware system components into the Trident Missile.

Mr. Maglich has a Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College Program Managers Course. He is a recipient of the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award and Defense Acquisition Executive Certificate of Achievement.
