Benefits of Working with SSP


As a DoN organization, we offer competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Federal Employees Health Benefits Program

  • Choice of plans: Fee-for-Service, Point of Service, Preferred Provider Organization, or Health Maintenance Organization

Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI)

  • Basic coverage includes double benefits for accidental death and benefits for loss of limb(s) or eyesight
  • Employees can also purchase optional insurance at their own expense
  • Employees younger than 45 receive an additional amount of coverage at no added cost.
  • Additional features include Long Term Care Insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts

Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS)

  • Comprised of the FERS Basic Benefits Plan, your Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and Social Security
  • TSP is a voluntary tax-deferred retirement savings and investment plan for Federal employees. It is similar to 401(k) investment plans in the private sector.

Military Service Credit and Leave

  • Active duty in the military service may be used to determine annual leave accrual rate and retirement eligibility
