Master Chief Christopher Brey

Master Chief Chris Brey enlisted in the Navy in November 1994 and graduated basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.

He completed follow-on training at Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois, Field Medical Service School in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Submarine Independent Duty Corpsman “C” School in Groton, Connecticut. Brey is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 201, the Command Master Chief (CMC)/Chief of the Boat Course, and Advance Command Master Chief Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Trident University and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston, West Virginia.

His sea duty assignments include Chemical Biological Incident Response Force, USS Hyman G. Rickover (SSN 709), USS Albany (SSN 753), and Chief of the Boat onboard USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) (Blue) and USS Michigan (SSGN 727) (Gold).

Brey’s shore duty assignments include Naval Air Station Pensacola Branch Medical Clinic, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Staff Independent Duty Corpsman of Submarine Squadron 15, and most recently Command Master Chief, Commander Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

He assumed duties as CMC for Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., on January 31, 2025.

Brey is the recipient of Three Meritorious Service Medals, Five Navy Commendation Medals and is most proud of the Navy Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency “E” awards, Omaha Trophy, and Hugh McCracken award earned by his teams.
