PACIFIC OCEAN - PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 28, 2023) - U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Johnny R. Wolfe Jr., director of the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) (left), is interviewed by Courtney Kube (right) of NBC aboard the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Louisiana (SSBN 743) during Demonstration and Shakedown Operation-32 (DASO-32) off the coast of Southern California. DASO-32 is the last DASO conducted by an Ohio-class SSBN coming out of engineering refueling overhaul (ERO), marking the completion of all post-ERO DASOs for the Ohio-class and will pave the way for sustainment of the strategic weapons system through the first Columbia-class DASO. SSP's flight testing program is a critical part of the cradle-to-grave responsibility for the nation's vital sea-based strategic deterrence mission.
