The agreement provides for the sale to the UK of the Trident Strategic Weapon System. Through the Polaris Sales Agreement, the United States and United Kingdom continue to strengthen NATO's collective defense and deterrence. Strategic Systems Programs is the Navy command that provides cradle-to-grave lifecycle support for Trident Strategic Weapon System. This includes training, systems, equipment, facilities and personnel responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and effectiveness of the nation’s Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Trident Strategic Weapon System.
